Welcome to Faction Carnival week. My fingers are crossed for good weather and no COVID!
Thank you to all the staff, particularly Mr Williams and Mrs Blanchard, who have worked hard training the students in the various disciplines and team games and ensuring the day is well organised and will be enjoyed by all. Whilst I am sure every student would love to win their race, sportsmanship and demonstrating the ARBOR Values by doing your best and being resilient if you don’t win are much more important.
I would like to remind all parents to please remain out of the bays during the carnival. This will allow for easier marshalling of students and avoid any disruptions. It will be amazing seeing parents and grandparents on the grounds on carnival day. Students will be allowed to sit with parents / caregivers during the lunch break.
I can’t wait to enjoy some of the treats being offered by the P&C on Carnival Day. Please support our P&C as they do such a wonderful job raising money that is used to purchase items for the school.
Last week we were very busy! We had some wonderful Harmony Week activities, Book Week and Open Night.
Thank you to Mrs Wilson for organising Harmony Week events and to the many parents from our culturally diverse school community who read books to the students in their home language. A special thank you to Mrs Hawkins, Mrs Quinn and the dedicated breakfast club volunteers for serving a wonderful Harmony Week themed breakfast.
There were some amazing costumes on Wednesday at our Book Week parade. I would like to thank all the students and staff that dressed up and made the event so much fun. A big thanks also goes to the many parents and grandparents that attended the assembly and parade and supported the students on the day.
I would like to thank the many parents that attended our Open Night. It was a delight seeing students proudly showing off their work and I am sure parents enjoyed the opportunity to chat with the teachers. We are very lucky in the current national COVID circumstances that in WA we are able to have these types of events with parents on school grounds.
The school is currently investigating opportunities for parents to come and hear about some of the new programs and initiatives being implemented at Arbor Grove, including our plans for remote learning in the event of a COVID lockdown. Please keep an eye out for details in future newsletters and via Connect.
As the weather begins to warm it is timely to remind everyone of the importance of having a hat (with your name in it) and a water bottle. When students do not have hats they unfortunately will not be permitted to play in the sun.
There are still a few major events to occur this term, including photo day, so please keep an eye on our school webpage, Connect or via the P&C page.
