The end of the year is fast approaching!
We wish our Year 6 students well at their upcoming orientation sessions. The step up from Primary to High School can be daunting but is also very exciting.
The weather is starting to warm up and I urge all students to remember their water bottles every day and their hats. Students with no hat are expected to play in the shaded areas.
End of Year Events
Our marvellous P&C are busy preparing for the Red Carpet Disco on December 2. I am sure it will be an amazing night. Parents who can help with set up and pack down are encouraged to contact the P&C.
Planning for the many end of year events such as the Kindergarten Concert, Year 6 Graduation and the end of year Awards Assembly are progressing well and it will be great to have these events operating as they did pre COVID.
Kindergarten 2023
It is fantastic that we have a full kindergarten for 2023. Any parents, in area, who have not secured a position are encouraged to join our wait list so that should a position become available it can be filled.
E Scooters
The school has received several complaints from members of the community where students have been seen riding e-scooters in a reckless way and without any protective gear such as a helmet. I understand that there have been several instances where students on e-scooters have had close calls with motorists. We would ask any parents that allow students to ride e-scooters ensure that their children have the appropriate protective gear and that they are reminded about road rules and are vigilant, particularly as the e-scooters are both quiet and speedy.
Changes in 2023
As mentioned in previous newsletters the school will be moving to use Facebook as a major communication platform in 2023. With Connect, a revitalised web page and Facebook we believe there may be no need for the traditional “Newsletter”. We hope to “go live” with our Facebook page before the end of the year or early 2023.
We are also busy considering several other new initiatives in 2023 including more opportunities for parents to engage with the school and with their children’s learning.
