Well another year is nearly over! I can’t believe we are at the end of week 9. It certainly has flown by!
This week our year 5 and 6 students have been enjoying swimming lessons at Mullaloo Beach, which given the very hot weather has been a hit and very much enjoyed by the students and staff.
Staff are busy preparing the many final events of the year- starting this week with the Kindergarten assembly followed next week by Graduation, ARBOR day and the Presentation assembly.
I hope all students continue to make good behaviour choices so that they can participate in every event.
Student Semester two reports will be sent out soon. I am sure parents will be eager to see how their children have performed over the year.
I would like to thank the P&C for another fantastic year supporting the school with fundraising, Book Club, School Banking and a range of events such as Mother’s Day stall, Father’s Day stall and the recent Disco. The school is fortunate to have such a dedicated group of parents.
As this is the last newsletter of the year I would like to wish all of you a Merry and Safe Christmas and New Year. Enjoy your holidays and I look forward to seeing you all in 2023.
In 2023 we will be using Facebook and Connect as our major avenues for sharing information with our community so this will be our last newsletter. The decision to use these other avenues was based on the desire to share information in the timeliest fashion and to move away from the outdated newsletter mode. We look forward to receiving parent feedback throughout 2023.
Kindergarten 2023
We have commenced a “waiting list” as we are full! It is possible that some spots may become vacant over the holidays so I would encourage any parents not yet enrolled to get onto our wait list.
2023 Class Placements
Students will receive information early next week outlining their classroom for 2023. We provide this information so that children have one less thing to worry about over the Christmas break.

Some delicious fun in Kindy!
As a part of our Talk 4 Writing unit this term the children in Kindy have been learning how to make Fairy Bread!
The ingredients we used were bread, butter and sprinkles. We had to make sure we followed the procedure using the terms First, Next, Then and Last very carefully.
Once we had finished, we enjoyed a Fairy Bread picnic together.
Swimming Lessons
During week 9, the year 5 and 6 students attended their swimming lessons at Mullaloo Beach. The students learnt about beach safety, swimming techniques and skills required for any beach activities. The weather was perfect which meant some great opportunities for the students to swim through the waves and have some fun on the sand!

Red Carpet Disco
Friday December 2 2022
Rounding out a big year of events was our Red Carpet Disco. An incredible 460 students turned out for a night of glitz and glamour. Everyone looked fantastic and we hope you all too had an opportunity to have photos with friends at our photo booth. With your support we raised just over $3700 that will go towards the kitty of funds for school projects. We would like to thank Janet and OSH club for once again supporting our fundraising efforts by donating most snack items sold at the BBQ stall. It has been wonderful to see so many new faces getting involved. We really appreciate it and we couldn’t run so many events throughout the year without your help. Thank you very much!
The P&C would like to wish everyone in our Arbor Grove School Community a healthy and happy holiday break. We look forward to your continued support in 2023.
