This week is a big week on our school calendar.
It was great to see all of the students, staff and even some of the parents dressed up in their best Book Week costumes yesterday for our assembly/parade. This year’s theme is “Reading is my secret power”.
I was excited to see students showing their parents around their classroom at our annual Open Night. The P&C offered some food and refreshments and many of you enjoyed a yummy dinner.
Students are busy honing their sporting skills ready for our faction carnival. Our track is ready and our fingers will be crossed for a sunny day of fun and good sportsmanship. More details will come out in due course.
Last week the students celebrated Science Week, with a focus on the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing. I would like to thank Mr Elliott and Ms Pleece for their organisation of the day’s activities.
Our planning for 2020 is going well and it is now time to ask any families that are leaving us at the end of the year to please advise the office at the earliest opportunity. This information will assist us in planning, and in due course classroom placements.
There are still places available in kindergarten for 2020 and I would encourage interested families to enrol at the earliest opportunity to secure your place.
Retirement
It is with a mix of emotions that I advise parents and our school community that Ms Pleece has decided to retire at the end of 2019. We will be sad to lose Ms Pleece who has given many years of excellent service to the school and the broader education system. We do however wish Ms Pleece every success and happiness in her retirement. We will acknowledge Ms Pleece more formally near the end of the year.
