Mallard.jpg

It is with regret that I inform our community that Mr Frank Charles Mallard retired Warrant Officer First Class Australian Army, founding member of Ellenbrook RSL Sub Branch, passed away surrounded by family on August 10 2019.

Frank spent many years serving in the Defence Force, though more recently he was renowned within the Ellenbrook community for his tireless enthusiasm and dedication to both the local and veteran community, as well as his heritage by encouraging young indigenous persons to join the ADF.

Frank was a much loved part of many ANZAC day services at Arbor Grove Primary, donating and reading books to the students and sharing his experiences. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Lest we Forget.

Calling all current serving AND ex-serving Defence families!!

There is a fantastic opportunity to participate in a parent/child camp run by up and coming Sydney based organisation ‘The Younger Heroes’. Their aim is to support both current and ex serving military families to strengthen their bond by building resilience in children and strengthening the bond between parent and child. The focus is centred around parental absence due to service requirements (this includes both previous and upcoming absences)  though extended or recent absences are not a prerequisite to attend.

There are two camps being run in Perth this year consisting of 3 days/2nights and will be run from September 27-29 and October 11-13. The cost for both the parent and child to attend together is $300. Please check out their website www.theyoungerheroes.org for further information and registration details and an overview of the camps. If anyone does attend the camps, please get in touch, I’d love to hear your feedback – I’ve heard wonderful things about them!

The EMRC Schools Battery Collection Program has begun for 2019.

Please bring in any old batteries and place them in the containers which are situated in every

classroom.

I know we can collect even more than last year.

Lets make 2019 the Year of the Battery!

Kindergarten Enrolments 2020

Kindy.jpg

Kindergarten introduces young children to a school environment.  It teaches them to follow routines and to cooperate with fellow students.  These skills help children to adjust more quickly to primary school.  At Arbor Grove Primary School, Kindergarten is a play-based learning environment where children are encouraged to be creative, collaborative and effective communicators.

Children who are born between 1 July 2015 and 30 June 2016 are eligible to attend Kindergarten in 2020.  If you know anyone with a child that is eligible to attend please let them know that we are now taking enrolments at Arbor Grove Primary School. Application forms are available from the front office or can be downloaded from our website. Places are filling fast!!
