Room 13

In room 13 we have been looking at persuasive writing and how to create a persuasive text. Students practiced creating reasons for and against a variety of topics. They learnt the structure of a persuasive text then they created their own persuasive text.

In maths we have been looking at graphing. As a class we did a survey about which was the most popular pet. Students voted on their favourite pet out of cats, fish, dogs and rabbits. We then recorded the results on a table and graphed them on a bar graph.

Room 18

In the last few weeks room 18 students worked on fractions. We practised converting common fractions to decimals, placing fractions on a number line and understanding the concept of equivalent fractions. We played several exciting group games to reinforce and broaden our understanding of the topic.

In order to collect information to be used in our News Report, we invited Miss Marshall, our school library officer, to interview her. We asked her many relevant questions regarding her life as a library officer. We took notes and now we are busy collating all that information to write a report based on that interview.

We would like to take this opportunity to formally invite all our parents and families to the most exciting event which is our class assembly. We have been working diligently preparing props and costumes and memorising our lines as well as improving our acting skills so we can present this fantastic play to the school next week.  The process was not only educational but most enjoyable as well!
