EMRC Schools Battery Collection Program

Please bring in any old batteries and place them in the containers which are situated in every classroom.

I know we can collect even more than last year.

Lets make 2019 the Year of the Battery!

Department of Fire and Emergency Services Incursion

This term the Department of Fire and Emergency Services visited our year 3 students.  They learnt about fire safety in the home, viewed the equipment on a fire truck and operated a fire hose.  The students completed follow up writing activities to consolidate their learning.

Book Club 2019

This year we held our first book club for the year 3 and 4 students. We shared with each other what kinds of books we love to read. From this we chose to read 'Danny the Champion of the World' by Roald Dahl. We read a part of the book each week and then completed a follow up activity using the app 'Seesaw'.  We learnt a lot about Danny and his father and their exciting adventures together.

Breakfast Club

Today was the last Breakfast Club for 2019.  This year saw over 120 students attending Breakfast Club each week and the introduction of our Cooking Club which had 50 students attending in term 4.

Thank you goes to all of the amazing Arbor Grove staff, parents and students.  The Breakfast Club wouldn’t be the success that it is without your support.

A big thanks also goes to our suppliers; Ellenbrook Lions Club, Aveley IGA, Coles in Ellenbrook and Foodbank.  Without these suppliers, the Breakfast Club would not be able to run.

Finally, today at Breakfast Club we ran a raffle for all attendees.  Congratulations goes to Bonnie and Bella for winning a Gingerbread House.

From all the staff at Breakfast Club and Cooking Club, we wish you all a very safe and joyous Christmas break and we look forward to seeing you at our next Breakfast Club in 2020.

Blender Bike

Last week the City of Swan provided their Blender Bike for our students to make banana smoothies during breakfast club.  The smoothies were very yummy and the students enjoyed blending the smoothies.

Mr Purdy enjoyed the blender bikes the most!
