In Focus
Room 12
Kaya! (Hello!) Each Wednesday in Room 12 we have been very fortunate to work with Mrs Butcher to learn the Noongar Language. So far we have learned greetings, colours, numbers and some body parts. We enjoy fun hands on activities to help us remember the new words and use them throughout the week.

We love learning our spelling words and applying the spelling rules through fun activities. Some of our favourites include play dough, water painting, using smelly textas, sand writing, stamping, memo board writing and bananagram letters.

With Miss Purdy on Thursdays, we have enjoyed reading a picture book then acting out our favourite scenes. We have worked on our confidence and using our oral language skills to entertain the audience. Our favourite books are the “Pig the Pug” series!

You are welcome, wanjoo, to visit us in Room 12 at any time. Boordah wan! (See you later on!)
Room 14
Measure, Measure, Measure!
Measurement requires students to develop dexterity in the use of a range of measuring instruments, competence in the use of mathematical processes such as counting, and a sound understanding of whole number and decimal number numeration.
We have started to learn what measurement means. So far we have learned how to measure with a ruler, a broken ruler and now we are measuring with a tape measure.
We are getting better at using a range of measuring instruments.
We are also developing an understanding of the language of measurement. For example, short is used to describe length and height. High and low are used to compare heights and sounds.

We had great fun measuring each other.
Thumbs are a little tricky!
Love the way you have used the match stick to measure over one metre.
Can you read your waist measurement?

Who is the tallest/largest?
Hello big foot!
Tangled tape measure. Let's straighten this one out!
We measured gently and carefully.
