Deputy's Desk
Student Medication
If your child needs medication, please come to the office and speak to one of the Deputy’s. We are happy for you to come to the school and give your child medication but if you need us to administer it then:
- The medicine must be in the original packaging, which indicates the student’s name and required dosage. Please don’t pop pills out of their packaging, rather cut off the number we require and send along with the box.
Please note we do not store paracetamol or ibuprofen for general student use.
Short Term Medication – 2 weeks
- Parents must fill in an Administration of Medication form from the front office.
- We can assist with medication such as antibiotics that are required 4 times a day (3 times a day can be managed at home.) Paracetamol or ibuprofen for an acute injury.
Long Term Medication
- Parents must make a time to meet with me and fill in a Student Health Care Summary and maybe a Management / Emergency Response Plan. We may require a medical plan / letter from the doctor depending on the nature of the health condition.
- Changes to dosage must be reflected by a doctor’s letter before we can implement a change at school.
- If your child requires on-going or intermittent pain relief of paracetamol or ibuprofen, they too will require a Student Health Care Summary with a doctor’s sign off. We are unable to administer medication at a student’s request.
All medication must come thought the front office, please do not take it to the classroom.

Social Distancing
Schools are busy places and play an important place in the community. It is also a place where people meet at times in large numbers.
To comply with Health Department directions, we are asking parents to adopt social distancing practices. Social distancing might mean that you wait in your car before collecting children or not congregate outside classes before and after school. It also may mean that you sanitise your hands before entering the school.
At the end of the school day we request that parents collect their children and leave the school grounds promptly. Until further notice students will not be permitted to play on the playground equipment including the Megatoy and the playground behind the science room after school. This position supports the government’s advice with respect to social distancing.
