Principal's Perspective

Well we are nearly at the end of a very busy Term 1 and things are beginning to look a little more like normal.

The Year 6 students have ordered their leavers shirts and I can’t wait to see them in their wonderfully unique shirts late in Term 2. The Year 6 teachers are also busy finalising camp arrangements for second term. The students are returning to Ern Halliday and given the feedback of previous years are in for an amazing few days.

The summer sports carnival, which unfortunately was cancelled last year, is on track for Tuesday week 9. This event is as much about participation as it is about winning and losing. I am sure the students will display our ARBOR values.

It is fantastic to see students engaging in a range of after school clubs, parents staying after school to watch children play on the Megatoy and some parents attending breakfast club with their children.

The school is currently reviewing the situation with respects to school assemblies and we hope to make a further announcement before the end of the term.

Before and After School Play

Parents are reminded that the Megatoy and the Nature Play are out of bounds before school. The Nature Play is also out of bounds after school.

However, we are thrilled to once again allow parents to supervise students to play on the Megatoy or on the junior oval after school. Please note that gates and toilets will be locked from 3.30pm.

Parents are required to follow current Government health advice regarding COVID protocols relating to social distancing and good hygiene.

Parking

Now that the Child and Parent Centre Arbor Grove is up and running we request that parents and caregivers avoid parking in the bays clearly marked for the Child and Parent Centre. This will ensure that CPC staff and parents from across the Ellenbrook area accessing the CPC, many of whom will have prams and young children to manage, are able to park safely.
