Child and Parent Centre Arbor Grove

Hello Families, 

My name is Grainne and I work for Anglicare WA at the Child and Parent Centre Arbor Grove. Some of you may be wondering what the beautiful new yellow building is at the side of the school and when it will be up and running. We are currently open, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm. We are not running at our full potential just yet, but we hope to be as the year progresses. I am in the process of recruiting some more Anglicare WA team members and I am very excited to bring them on board so we can start offering some drop in coffee and chat sessions and some pop-up playgroups. The Child and Parent Centre Arbor Grove supports families with children aged 0 - 8 years living in Ellenbrook. We will work very closely with Mr Purdy and the team at Arbor Grove Primary as this is our Host School. We will also work with some of the other local schools in the Ellenbrook area.  There will be an array of programs and services available through the centre as we progress on this exciting journey, such as Child Health Checks, Speech Therapy, Triple P, Protective Behaviors, Circle of Security, Read Play Grow and MyTime. We will also offer parent workshops on many different parenting topics, for example preparing your child for Kindy, managing anxiety in children, mindfulness parenting and the importance of play. This is just a small selection to give you an idea of what we can provide. We will also offer some pop-up activities during the school holiday breaks. As we look at starting new programs and services we want the local community to be a part of shaping the centre as much as possible. I will be popping out in the coming weeks to community groups and playgroups to chat with local families about their experiences and what they would like to see happening at the centre.
